Over the Easter weekend Sean, myself and Etta headed down south to the Coal Coast again – this part of Australia is truly to die for. Long stretches of coastline with stunning beaches, cliffs, mountains, rock pools and really nice people!
We free camped the first night at Sharkey’s Beach near Coledale and then the second night at the Headlands car par. All legit free camping spots if you are in a car or Microbus – unfortunately not for panel vans or campers. That’s the great thing about having a tin top Microbus, we can pretty much get away with camping in these kind of spots. A council worker even pulled up next to us one morning with his coffee and a hello. Classic.
After spending Sunday morning digging out a zupped up Ford from the beach – all the locals chipped in the get a car load of tourists bogged in the sand out and back on the road – we headed back to Sharkey’s Beach at Coledale.
Sharkey’s (as it’s known to the locals) is THE best place to spend the day, beautiful beach, great grassy area, plenty of parking, bathrooms, tables and it’s dog friendly! Down there we bump into our fellow Kombi mates and their bus Summer – check out their Instagram HERE. Obviously with two gorgeous buses side by side a photo shoot was in order.
