We have arrived home from a two week road trip up the North Coast of New South Wales to Byron Bay and back.  We took the opportunity to stop at many different places on the way that we had heard about but had never gotten the chance to see.

We packed up the Kombi, loaded the dog and off we went.

Our first stop was Avoca Beach on the Central Coast.  A picturesque beach which is dog friendly.  We free camped in the car park overlooking the beach.  No hassles at all.

Our journey to Avoca was not without drama. Just outside of Gosford our idle circuit cut off wire snapped and we had to make an emergency stop at the local Repco for repairs. It was funny to watch Sean ride the accelerator and brake at the same time to stop us from stalling at the lights! #kombilife

The next morning we were up early for the sunrise over the ocean. It was glorious, so much colour and the light was truly stunning to capture. #chasethelight

We then made our way to a small beach we had heard about from friends, Copacabana Beach. Our neighbour used to go here all the time and would rave about how beautiful it was, so being in the area we took to opportunity to check it out, and he wasn’t wrong. It is a stunning beach with small cafes, shops and a lovely friendly vibe.

We could see why it’s called Copacabana – two massive headlands on either side tower over the water. We had breakfast and coffee over looking the beach, then played with Bandit! Copacabana Beach is dog friendly, a must for your pooch.

Next stop Catherine Hill Bay . . .
